There is no reel, no cassette and no mechanism. The duct itself is the mechanism — a concertina that stretches to 25 ft and compresses back down to the height of the bucket it's stored in. The bucket does the rest: it protects the duct, carries it, and acts as the collar at the source end of the run.
Drag the slider to extend and collapse the duct. The scale below the duct is the real 25 ft run.
Stored
Compressed, the full 25 ft occupies nothing more than the inside of the bucket. Lid on, handle up. It stacks with other buckets, straps down in a truck, and takes the abuse that would otherwise land on the duct.
This is the state it ships in and the state it spends most of its life in — which is exactly why the storage matters more than most people think.
Deployed
Set the bucket at the source, take the free end, and walk. The concertina opens as you go. Stop at whatever length the job needs — you don't have to run the full 25 ft, and the unused portion simply stays folded in the bucket.
Partial deployment is normal. A 12 ft run pulls 12 ft.
Collapsed
Walk the free end back toward the bucket and press down. Each fold seats on the one below it and the whole run drops back inside. No rolling technique, no coiling, no zip ties, no second person.
Because it packs the same way every time, it goes back in the truck the same way every time.

Coupling buckets
A single bucket gives you 25 ft. When the job needs more, couple a second bucket of the same gauge onto the end of the first. Two buckets make 50 ft, three make 75 ft.
Each bucket still owns its own 25 ft, so at the end of the job you break the run back into individual buckets and each one packs itself away. Nothing gets orphaned and nothing gets left behind.
Gauges do not mix. An 8 gauge couples only to another 8 gauge, a 10 to a 10, a 12 to a 12. The duct diameters are different, so there is no cross‑gauge connection.
